Scott's Birthday

Scott spent last week up in Goodland helping his grandpa with harvest. They finished up Saturday morning. After the Freedom Run Saturday Cheyenne and I headed out west. We got to Goodland about 4:00 our time (3:00 their time). We left Goodland again at 4:30 their time to go to Bird City to eat at Big Ed's for Scott's birthday. We had delicious steaks and were extremely full for the 45 minute ride home. Scott turned 27 on Sunday. He had driven his motorcycle to Goodland so that Cheyenne and I would have the truck to come up on Saturday. We wanted to leave early Sunday morning so Scott didn't have to drive back in the heat but we didn't end up leaving until 11:00. It was in the 90's for most of the ride home. Scott was worn out and a little sunburned when we got home at 5:00 (we had to stop every 100 miles for Scott to get gas and we stopped to see my cousins and eat lunch).

Last Week

Last week I stayed at my parents' most of the week because Scott was in Goodland for harvest and mom and the girls were watching Cheyenne. Rahter than making several trips back and forth. I didn't post while I was out there so here is a post of our exciting week at "Mama and Papa's". Which is what Cheyenne calls them now!

After breakfast Wednesday morning, mom let Cheyenne play in the sink. She loves the water!

A Day for Babies

Saturday we received 2 phone calls stating that some friends and a cousin both had their babies. They were both a month early! Our friends' baby weighed 5 lbs. something. My cousin's baby weiged 7 lbs. 6 oz. Either they were off on her due date or she was going to have a big baby! Both babies are doing good and we can't wait to see them!

Visit from Henderson

Aunt Carole, my mom's sister, came to visit from Henderson, NV. She was here for 2 weeks. We weren't able to spend a lot of time with her but did get a few days to visit with her. She usually only makes it here once a year so we enjoy the time we do get with her. Scott, Cheyenne and I went out to Grandma and Grandpa's on Monday to visit and eat lunch with everyone. Aunt Carole made a delicious lunch of chicken, mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes. For dessert she made chocolate pudding. I brought some pies out also.

Everyone eating lunch.

Now it's time for dessert. The pudding was yummy. She mixed cool whip with it!

I went out to see her again on Friday. She was entertaining Cheyenne with Grandma's turkey.

She left today to go back home. We love her visits but miss her in between. We are hoping to make it to Henderson to see her soon.

Ready for the Weekend

Ok...so I know I haven't posted all week but I have been super busy. Staci, who works at the rec in the mornings was on vacation this week so I had a few extra duties. A deadline is approaching for Relay for Life so I have been trying to contact the people I need to for that. Scott's dad has been here since Wednesday morning. My Aunt has been here since the 16th and she leaves tomorrow so I went out there a couple days to spend some time with her. My mom actually kept Cheyenne over night Tuesday and Thursday. That helped me get a little more done. We had baseball/softball games everynight this week except Wednesday and today so I got more done at work those days. Although I did have to go out and umpire Thursday. Now, I'm mostly caught up at work, I've gotten done what I can with Relay for Life, Scott's dad left and I think I can relax. IT'S THE WEEKEND!!

Playing with Daddy and Uncle Dustin

Thursday night Scott's brother came to our house. He was working in Salina and decided to come down and see us. Cheyenne was showing off for him!

Messes

Cheyenne has been getting into EVERYTHING lately. Some days in seems like all I get done is picking up after her. Tuesday Scott called me at work and said I needed to see this mess my daughter had made. I asked if it was anything unusual from the messes she makes for me everyday. He just said I needed to see it. I wasn't able to go home to see them so he left it out for me when I got home at 9. She had tried to climb in her toy box and tipped it over and all the toys were strung out all over the living room!

Notice that all the books are pulled off the shelf in this picture!

I have another picture of a mess she made ot work yesterday too. I will post it at work.

Maybe it's time to teach her to get just a few toys out and put the ones away when she is done! We'll see how that goes!

Father's Day

Yesterday was Scott's second Father's Day. Unfortunately he had to work. Cheyenne and I went to church and then hung out at my parents' with my dad and grandpa. It was nice to spend time with them. We made it home just in time for Scott to get up and get ready for work. We did enjoy the hour that we got to see him. It's been a fun year since Scott's last Father's Day! Cheyenne has grown so much and so has Scott as a father. I look forward to many more Father's Days!

I am very blessed to still have my grandfather on my mom's side. My dad's dad passed away several years ago. It's been fun watching him with his great-granddaughter. He loves it when we come to visit!

Making a Splash

Yesterday I got out Cheyenne's pool and filled it with water. The water was cold but she liked playing in it from the outside of the pool. I put her swimsuit on her and stood her in it and in just a few seconds she was sitting down and splashing all around!

Mommy got in with her. It was so cold but I figured if she could stand it so could I!

Friends

Some friends that I met through Iron Works when I first started always love coming to work out and playing with Cheyenne. If she isn't there they always ask where she is in a disappointed tone. Cheyenne gets excited when she sees them and knows they are going to play with her. Here are some pictures I have taken of them playing with her.

Amanda put her slippers that she wore to the rec on Cheyenne!

Yvonne was playing with Cheyenne and found an ACE bandage and was wrapping Cheyenne all up!

I'm glad that I have made some wonderful friends since I started working at the rec/Iron Works. They've been a lot of fun! Cheyenne loves them too!

Road Trips

Sunday Cheyenne and I went with my Grandma Clark to Colby to see my cousins and go to their dance recital. It was kind of a long drive in one day but it was worth it. The kids did a great job. Kylee is a good tap dancer! I could watch her do that all day! They wouldn't let you take flash photography in the recital so I didn't get any pictures. I do have some from them just playing around. Dawson, another cousin, came to Colby with Lynnette's parents too. We don't get to see him very often so it was a pleasant surprise. Cheyenne did very well on the trip. She got a little fussy at times but Grandma played and read to her while I drove.
Before they got ready for the recital, Kylee showed us how she pitched. She is the starting pitcher for her traveling team.

Cheyenne liked the trampoline.

Shevin and Dawson jumping while Cheyenne watched and laughed at them.

Shaylee giving Grandma flowers after the recital.

Lynnette with Kylee, Dawson, Shevin, Shaylee and Cheyenne. They didn't want us to leave!

Today Scott got home from work and loaded up the truck and took Cheyenne and they headed to Goodland. He's going to help his Grandpa finish getting the combine ready for harvest. I hope Cheyenne does well on this trip too. On Saturday we'll be making another trip up that way but not as far. We are going to Hays for my friend's baby shower. Cheyenne is going to be sick of sitting in her carseat by the time this week is over. She is getting to see and play with lots of family though!

Mac 'N Cheese

Yesterday Cheyenne ate Macaroni and cheese at work. I let her eat it with her fingers and she ate about 3 helpings! She loves it! Here are some pictures to show how much she loves it!
It was starting to dry on her face because I had to help a couple people in Iron Works.

Playing Outside

Sunday Scott mowed the yard and Cheyenne and I planted some cucumbers and cantelope. Cheyenne loved being outside. She loves playing in the dirt now! She was actually eating some of it too! Yuck! I took lots of pictures of her outside. She didn't stay in one place very long. We look forward to the rest of the summer to get to play outside!
