Weekend with family

This weekend Scott's brother Dustin, Dustin's girlfriend and dad and Scott and Dustin's mom and sister all came to our house. They came Friday late afternoon and left Sunday evening. I had to supervise soccer so didn't get to spend a whole lot of time with them but enjoyed the time I did get. I did take a few hours off Friday evening so I could be there that night. When they got here we barbequed and just hung out.
Everyone hanging out in the front yard Friday evening.

Dustin and his dad.
Scott swinging his mom around the yard! She "loves" this!!!
Cheyenne loved being outside and playing on the porch!
She also loved walking with Grandma! She didn't like stepping on the grass with bare feet though!
She wasn't too sure about the bike though.
(She didn't go for a ride...just sat on it)
Saturday night we went Extreme bowling in Hutch. This is Dustin bowling.
Scott trying to show everybody up! He did the 2nd & 3rd games. I even beat him the 1st game! I guess he just needed to warm up!
Mable and Kenny deep in conversation at the bowling alley.
Dustin and Sara at the bowling alley.
Us at the bowling alley! Cheyenne was getting tired but she was a trooper! It helps that she stays up late just about every night!
We had a wonderful weekend with GREAT FAMILY, GREAT FOOD AND GREAT FUN!

Scott's New Toy

Last April, right after Cheyenne was born, Scott sold his motorcycle. This April he decided he needed another one! It's a 2006 Yamaha Warrior. Scott's mom came over yesterday and she watched Cheyenne so I got to be the first one to ride with him! It's got some power! It will be harder this time though. We won't be able to just go out an ride. We do have some friends that have motorcycles too and are expecting their first baby anytime. We might have to take turns watching kids so we can all ride!

My Big Girl

Cheyenne and Brody received chairs from Wendy Arriola who used to clean and babysit for the rec in the mornings. Cheyenne likes to sit in it but would rather pick it up and move it around. She is getting to be such a big girl. She will do things and I realize that she isn't a baby any more. *tear*

Happy 26th Anniversary!

Happy 26th Wedding Anniversary Mom and Dad!

This was them at my wedding.

I am so grateful that my parents are still together and still love each other after 26 years. This day and age it seems marriages lasting this long are hard to find. I hope that Scott and I are still going strong like them when we have our 26th anniversary! We have many years to go!

All in a days work

My Parks and Rec Girl!

Cheyenne has been very entertaining at work lately. Not only for me but for those coming into Iron Works and the rec commission. She likes to "escape" from the office any chance she can get. So I put up a gate.

If she does get into Iron Works or the hall, she crawls as fast as she can to get away from me. She will find anyone she can that will walk with her.

Miles is one of the lucky ones!

Here is a video of her "running" through Iron Works with Miles.

Or she just climbs on the equipment until I catch her and bring her back to the office.

Every once in awhile she gets to work out too!

She could hold this 8 lb. medicine ball for awhile. Before I got my camera she held it and made a face and shook like she was really struggling to hold onto it. It was so cute! But of course when I got my camera she wouldn't do it again.

When she actually stays in the office she finds ways to entertain herself. Sometimes we have a mess but she stays there and is quiet!

She entertained herself with all of the paper that needs to be recycled!

There have been several days where she won't be there and people will come in and ask where she is and when I tell them she is not here they seem a little disappointed and don't stay long in the office. I'm glad that they look forward to seeing her when they come to work out! I'm thankful that I get to take her to work with me and she is so entertaining to me and the members of Iron Works and LRC!

Playing cards

Saturday evening my sisters were coming to stay the night because my parents were out of town. Staci was at her boyfriends but Brittany was there and Adria came over and we ate some pizza and played Phase 10. We had fun and so did Cheyenne! I gave her her own cards to play with in the high chair. She played a few games of 52 card pick up!

Steps

On Friday Cheyenne started taking a couple steps. She is getting good at standing without holding on to anything. She even starts clapping and dancing while standing there. Yesterday she took about 5 or 6 steps. It takes her awhile to get balance standing and then she realizes she can move her feet! It depends on if she wants to get to something or not either!

Here is a short video of her from yesterday.

Prom

Yesterday my sisters had prom. They were glad the snow had melted by noon! They both had dates. Quivira Heights is so small that everyone gets to go to Prom, freshmen through seniors. Only Juniors and Seniors and their dates get to go to afterprom though. Although Staci got to go because her and her boyfriend were servers for the reception. I was a server my freshman year too. I was able to go to afterprom all 4 years. Scott was a Junior when I was a sophomore so I could go with him. Staci wanted me to come help her do her makeup. So I went out to mom and dad's and helped the girls get ready. It was fun!

Staci getting ready.

Brittany almost ready.

A quick pose!

Brittany and her date, Chris Ramsey.

Staci ready for her first prom.

Haddie met Staci at mom and dad's and then mom went to pick up Staci's boyfriend and they went to eat. I didn't get a picture of Staci and Jacob so I'll have to get one from my mom.

25!

Yesterday I turned 25! My dad said to me, "Can you believe you're 25? I can't. Sometimes I wish I was 25 again!" That made me realize that I need to enjoy these years. I won't be able to do the things I can do now in another 25 years. It was a good day. Scott surprised me and went to Hutch when he got off work at 5 am and got me a bicycle stroller. I woke up at 7:30 and he wasn't home yet so I called to see where he was. He said he was helping a friend. I didn't think anything of it because they help each other with stuff all the time. Then I saw the box with the stroller. We haven't put it together yet. I'm hoping the rain stops and it warms up so we can use it! I don't have a picture of it yet but if it is put together when I get home I will add it.

At work they had an ice cream cake for me for the board meeting. I love DQ ice cream cakes! Staci had a bracelet made with Cheyenne's name on it! It's awesome! I got lots of phone calls yesterday too. My friend Adria also sent me flowers and stopped by after work. Then my mom came in and brought me a dozen yellow roses and a gift and visited with me for awhile. Overall it was a good day!

Here is the cake I made, flowers and gift from my parents and some of my cards.

Thank you to everyone for making my day so special!

Busy Weekend

Ok Staci here it is!!!

FRIDAY:

My mom, sister, Cheyenne and I made a quick trip to Wichita to the Just Between Friends consignment sale. It was snowing a little so we weren't sure if we going to be able to go but at about 8:30 we decided to go ahead. It was very cold but we got some good deals. Mostly clothes but I did get a pair of water shoes for her for $1 and somthing I don't need right now but will come in handy with future children, a carrier carseat cover for the winter. I got it for $5. I also found a few things for a friend that is having a baby in May. I needed to look for an Easter dress so we decided to just go back to Hutch rather than going to the mall in Wichita. I found a dress at JcPenny and shoes at Wal-Mart. I picked up a few other things from Wal-Mart for the weekend and then we got something to eat and headed back home. We unloaded the truck and Cheyenne and I were back at work at 2:45 pm. Here are some pictures from Friday.

It was so cute the way Cheyenne was looking at Brittany while she was doing her hair.

They both took a nap on the way to Hutch from Wichita.

SATURDAY:

We had pictures with Scott's mom's side of the family in McPherson at 1 pm. Then we had cake at Grandma and Grandpa Goalden's house to celebrate Grandpa and Sonya's birthdays. Scott had to get to work by 5:00 and Cheyenne and I had to get to Wilson for Scott's sister, Samantha's Baptism and Confirmation. I stood up with Sammi as a sponsor. We are so proud of her for going through all of the classes and attending church on a regular basis. She has grown a lot as a young, Christian woman.

Samantha, Mable, Me, and Wilma (one of her sponsors from the church)

SUNDAY:

I stayed the night at my parents' last night (Scott had to work) so I didn't have to drive all the way back home from Wilson and then get up early for church in Claflin. (Our pastor does the Lutheran church in Holyrood and Claflin so the sunrise service was in Claflin this year). We didn't attend the service because my sisters had to help the youth group serve the breakfast so we spent the service time getting everything ready. Then we ate served, ate and cleaned up breakfast and headed to Holyrood for our church service at 10:30.

The alter was beautiful with the crosses and all of the remembrance lillies.

After church we headed back to mom and dad's to prepare dinner. We had a delicous dinner with grandma and grandpa. We visited for awhile after dinner and then Cheyenne and I took a nap. I slept for an hour and a half and Cheyenne slept for 2 hours. Brittany decided she wanted to play with Cheyenne and my hair. Grandma Clark came out for pie and after she left, Cheyenne and I headed home too. I was coming down with a cold so we picked up the house a little bit and went to bed.

Cheyenne in her Easter dress

It was so pretty how she was sitting and her dress was laying.

The girls after church.

One of Brittany's hairdos she did for Cheyenne.

And another one!

One more...Brittany got Cheyenne to sit still by letting her play with all of the hair pieces. Mom has a huge collection! I'm sure I will be that way someday, espcially if I have more than one girl!

It was a very busy weekend but I enjoyed spending time with family!
