Playing at Work

Last week Amamda and Yvonne Lange came into the gym and were playing with Cheyenne. They were being quite funny!

Putting erasers on Cheyenne's head!

Amanda took Cheyenne into the daycare room to play!

She built a little tent for them to play in!

Here is a video of Cheyenne earlier in the day when I was trying to play catch with her. Junior was back in the kitchen and came up to the office and said he could hear her clear back there!

On another note at work...

Monday morning it rained alot in and around Lyons. I head intown we got 4 inches and some people north of town got 7! When Staci got to work early Monday morning there was water sitting infront of the Iron Works door. The drain was clogged and water run into Iron Works under the door! Junior was walking around and realized there was some water under some of the mats. We started pulling them up to mop under them and there was lots more than we thought. We had to move weight equipment around an pull up mats and mop and then turn several fans on to get it all to dry.

Here are a couple pictures after we mopped up the water.

You can kind of see in this picture how far back we had to pull up mats. I am standing in the office doorway of Iron Works.

Glad it was on a Monday morning and not over a weekend!

Water Baby

Sometimes Cheyenne takes showers with me. She used to just sit at the front of the tup and play with the water that drips out of the faucet. Now she likes to stand under the shower water. Which sometimes makes it difficult for me to shower!

102.7

102.7 was Cheyenne's temerature when I took her to the doctor yesterday. She had had a temp of at least 100 all day on Thursday. Before bed on Thursday it was as high as 103. I had given her several doses of Motrin but it didn't go down. Most of the day she just wanted to be held. She would play for a little while but then not feel well again. Her temp was still almost 100 when she woke up Friday morning so I decided I to call and see if I could get her into the doctor before the weekend. Cheyenne's usual doctor isn't in on Fridays so we saw Dr. Simpson instead. He had blood drawn, which was difficult too. They pricked her finger but couldn't get enough so had to take it from a vein in her arm. The blood test showed that she had a viral infection. There wasn't any other medication we could give her except Motrin or Tylenol. He said to give it to her every 4 hours, even wake her up in the middle of the night to give it to her. After her dr. apt. I went back to work for a little while but decided to take her home and stay home with her. Dr. Simpson said she shouldn't be around other kids right now. I finished up some things at work, disinfected some things, had someone come in to workfor me and headed home. She did ok for a little while at home but then was feeling bad again. I gave her a bath and we laid in the recliner and both fell asleep.

Today she was playing better and her temp was down. I still have her Motrin and Tylenol. We had a wedding at 3:00 and during the reception she started feeling bad again. She was getting hot again. I was with my mom and sister so we headed home.

Dr. Simpson said this could last 4-5 days so hopefully it gets better soon. Sunday will be 4 days. If it's not better Monday we may be headed back to the doctor.

Weekend in KC day 3

This was the much anticipated day we were going to watch the Yankees play the Royals. We went to the Legends around noon and then headed back to Matthew's apartment for some steaks before heading to the game. We had an extra ticket so one our our high school friends came up from Topeka to go to the game with us. We had a good time. Especially because the Yankees won!

Weekend in KC day 2

Suday morning we got up and around and headed to Kansas City. About half way there, we had to pull over for firetrucks, an ambulance and police cars to pass us. A van had caught on fire just a little ways up the highway. We had to wait for about 15 minutes or so while they put it out.

Here is Cheyenne hanging out in the truck with her musical puppy while we wait.

When we got to KC we found my dad at the hotel and met my brother there. Mom and the girls were already shopping! We went and ate lunch and then headed to the mall. After shopping for a couple hours, we went back to my brother's and hung out for awhile and then went swimming. Cheyenne loved swimming! When the sun went behind the clouds it was a little cool but she didn't care!

We tried to get her out but she just wanted to jump back in.

Cheyenne was getting sleepy and looked like she was going to fall asleeep!

Our family at the pool.

Weekend in KC day 1

This past weekend we went to Kansas City to watch the Yankees play. We left Saturday morning a little before 8:00 and headed to Fort Scott to see Scott's brother and stay with them for the night. We got there a little before noon. We thought he lived in Fort Scott but he called when we were about 15 minutes from Fort Scott and said he lived outside of Uniontown, which we passed about 7 miles back! We turned around and finally made it to Dustin's. He is renting a house out in the country up on a little hill. It's beautiful up there.

A view to the road at Dustin's neighbor's.

Looking back at the creek from behind the house.

Cheyenne playing in the rocks outside.

Cheyenne and Daddy playing in more rocks on the back patio.

Cheyenne loved playing on the stairs. This room used to be a garage that they turned into a living room. The stairs go up into the kitchen. Cheyenne went up and down then all day!

Saturday evening I was able to go into Fort Scott and see a friend from college. She left Colby in December of our first year and we keep in touch but haven't seen each other since then. It had been almost 7 years! It was good to see her. She is expecting her first child in February! It will be fun to be pregnant with her. Hopefully we'll get to see more of each other since Dustin only lives 20 minutes from Fort Scott.

Swimming in Pajamas

Yesterday morning we got up late, around 10:00. We were still in our PJs when we went out to get the mail. Cheyenne's pool is still on the porch with water in it. She walked over to it, put her hands in and splashed around a little bit and then climbed right in and sat down. She played in it for awhile and then got out and played in the water from outside the pool. I guess it is never to early or and doesn't matter what you are wearing to play in the pool!

"I can't see!"

Yesterday Cheyenne found her towels that were on the coach in the basement that I hadn't put away yet. She thought it was pretty fun to put them on her head. She even thought it was funny when she bumped into stuff! She was very entertaining for awhile!

Big Sister

I know some of you have been waiting on me to post about this so here it is.

On May 22nd we found out that Cheyenne is going to be a big sister. Her little brother or sister is due January 22nd. We are so excited!
Cheyenne gave Daddy the positive pregnancy test to tell him she was going to have a brother or sister.

This is how we told some of our family and friends that we are going to have another little one!

Our family and friends were excited too! I had a lot to write about since having Cheyenne now I'll have even more. Look for more posts on this precious little child growing inside me!

Stinky

Monday morning about 4:30 I woke up to Cheyenne kind of whining and the smell of a skunk. I tried to put her back to sleep but neither one of us could sleep. I know I couldn't because of the smell I don't know if that was why she woke up or not but it was strong. Finally we went into the living room and tried to sleep on the couch. Scott got home from work shortly after 5:00 and asked why it smelled like a skunk in the house. He couldn't smell it outside. We were guessing that the skunk was by the air conditioner, which is under our bedroom window, and it came through the house that way. We fell asleep on the couch and went back to bed about 8:00 and I couldn't smell it anymore. I hope that skunk doesn't stick around here.

A Weekend to Play

This weekend we hosted the 14U and 16U State Babe Ruth Softball Tournament. I was out at the ball diamonds most of the weekend. My sisters and mom came into town to watch Cheyenne and Brody. They had a good time playing this weekend. Sunday Brody was a little fussy because he is trying to get some teeth in but they still had a good time playing. They played in the baby pool on Sunday but my sisters didn't get pictures of that. Here are the pictures they did take.
Taking a nap together on Saturday.

Cheyenne and Brody playing while mom folds socks. Yes my mom does my laundry when she is at my house. I really appreciate her help. Especially since I wasn't home this weekend to get laundry caught up.

Playing in the toy box.

Playing with more toys.

Brody says, "I want that one!"

Ouie!

Yesterday I was getting ready to leave to take Cheyenne out to my mom's for the day and I put the trash in the dumpster and Cheyenne was at the top of the stairs by our back door. As I was going to get her, she fell. She only fell down one step when I caught her but she cut open her lip and got some strawberries on her forehead and nose. She cried hard for a minute and then she was ok but I felt really bad.

You can see her lip is a little purple in this picture.

You can kind of see the scrapes on her face and can see her lip better.

This is what it looks like today. She's been big and it doesn't seem to bother her.

This isn't the first ouie and won't be the last!
