Girls Day Out

Yesterday Yvonne, Wendy and I had a girls day out to Headturners in Hutchinson. Amber was also supposed to go but had a family get together. We all got different things done. I got my hair cut and hi lighted. Yvonne got a deep conditioning for her hair and a manicure. Wendy got a massage. Yvonne was also supposed to have a chair massage but they didn't get it scheduled so she didn't get to have it.

Finalization of my pedicure, getting my feet massaged! The chair also massaged your back!

REFRESHED!

After being pampered we stopped at Spangles for lunch/supper. None of us had eaten lunch so we were starving! We sat there and visited for 2 hours! Then we took Yvonne to her brother-in-law's for an evening with them and Wendy and I headed home.

We all enjoyed being pampered and getting away with the girls! We all needed it! I think we'll plan girls day outs more often!

Yesterday we were able to go to Hays to meet Lana and Jace. They had a lamb sale in Hays and were going to be there for the weekend. The girls went to soccer with me and then we headed up to Hays. It was so good to see them! We haven't seen them since they got married over a year ago! Colorado isn't that far but with all of our schedule's it's hard to get together. We wouldn't have missed this opportunity to see them! We went out to eat and then to Walmart. The guys had the lambs unloaded by then so we could take the girls to go see them. Cheyenne was a little scared but started feeding them and liked that. I didn't take my camera into the arena and when I was going to go back out and get it, it was pouring rain so I took some with Lana's camera so if she sends them to me I'll post them later. Then we went back to Lana and Jace's hotel and took the girls swimming. They had a blast! It wore us all out. Lana and I took the girls to McDonald's for a light supper and Chey fell asleep on my lap before she was done eating. I took Lana back to her hotel and sadly said goodbye. It was 9:30 when we left Hays. It was so good to get to see Lana and Jace. I wish it wasn't so long between visits.

Happy Easter

Easter morning, the easter bunny visited our house! He hid the eggs we died the day before and left the girls little gifts!

They loved finding the eggs!

After they found eggs we got ready for church and headed to Claflin for the sunrise service and breakfast. Then to mom and dad's for dinner.

My attempt at taking a picture of the girls together! Chey is choking Cheryl a bit!

Our family on Easter (minus Scott, he had to work)

We tried taking Chey's 3 year pictures but she really didn't want to cooperate. She was more interested in playing with the props than taking pictures. I guess maybe we'll have to have someone else do it. She did pose for a picture with me!

The kids!

Grandkids! (the great grandkids were sleeping!)

I love days to get together with family and celebrate the reason we are here!

Easter Egg Hunt

April 11th was the Easter Egg Hunt in Lyons. All the kids 3 and under were in one group. It was too many kids for one group. Cheyenne got one egg and Cheryl got 2. As one of my friends' 3 year old put it, "Everytime I turned around, there were big people!" They let the adults help in that group and I think they do more than the kids! The girls still had fun! Every year the Cal Maine chickens (people dressed up in chicken costumes) come to the hunt. Cheyenne is terrified of them. One of them came over and put some candy in her basket. Thank goodness I was holding her! She clung on to me and told him thank you. Then someone wanted to take our picture and she hung on tighter as the chicken put his arm around her, she did get out a "CHEESE". I haven't seen it yet but apparently that picture made the front page of the Lyons paper!
Nick and Amber with Cheryl waiting for it to begin.

Cheryl would have had all the eggs picked up before it started if I would have let her!

Brittany and Staci helping the girls get eggs! Look at all the people! You can't see too many little ones!

Cheyenne showing me her basket but I didn't get a very good picture of the egg she got! Her friend Domanic was nice and gave her one of his!

Big Girls

Yesterday the girls both had well checks. Chey's 3 year and Cheryl's 15 month. Cheyenne weighed in at 37 lbs. and was 3'5" tall. Cheryl was 28 lbs. and was 2'9" tall. They are both still above the chart for their height! We were shocked, but not completely, when Cheryl's head was 1/4" bigger than Cheyenne's! We knew Cheryl had a big head just didn't realize it was bigger than her 3 year old sister's! Everything else was good. Cheryl still has a herniated belly button and Debbie said we could take her to a specialist if we wanted to. She said the last family they sent to the specialist, got sent home saying that they heal on their own. A few weeks ago Cheryl was holding her belly and crying so we're not sure if hers is hurting her or not. We're going to give it a little while and see if she holds it anymore and then we'll decide if we need to take her somewhere else or not. Other than that all was well! We have 2 BIG, healthy girls!

It's kind of hard to see but Chey is on the right and Cheryl on the left.

What 2 and 3 year olds do at a sleep over

Rilan stayed the night for Cheyenne's birthday. They had fun at Chey's party and playing before and after. Scott kept them today and he said they played and watched movies until he took Rilan home around 4:00. Scott even took all 3 girls to Wendy's for lunch! I was surprised he ventured out with them! Last night they were all coloring and playing with stickers when Cheyenne and Rilan decided it would be fun to put the stickers all over! The things a 2 and 3 year old will do!

Cheyenne's 3rd Birthday Party

Today we celebrated Cheyenne's 3rd birthday with family and friends. We had a house full! Cheyenne had a good time! She got lots of clothes! She was needing them too because she's hit a growth spurt recently! We skipped the 5T and are in the little girl sizes now!

Opening presents.

Viva Las Vegas

Tonight is the QHHS Prom, Viva Las Vegas! Cheyenne, Cheryl and I went over there for the promenade. The Junior class, Staci's class, did an awesome job on the decorations. They made everything themselves! No props were bought!

I don't know if you can see or not, but the K and Q cards have all the seniors' pictures on the faces. I didn't notice it until I was getting ready to leave. I guess there were 4 joker cards too with teachers and the principal on them!

I'm the Mother of a Three Year Old!

Today I am the mother of a 3 year old! I can't believe that Cheyenne is 3. Time has gone by so fast. Today she went with Scott to Goodland for 3 days. They will be back sometime Saturday. We let her open a few presents this morning, three of them being movies she could take to grandpa's to watch. We also let her open the gifts from Nana and Aunt Cheryl. She loved it all! We're going to have her party on Sunday and she's having a friend spend the night! It should be fun! I have some pictures of her opening presents this morning but don't have them with me right now. I'll post them later.

Turning 3 is life changing. She told me last night that she was bigger now. This morning she didn't want a little bowl for her cereal, she wanted a big one because she was a big girl! My baby is growing up. :( As fast as these 3 years have gone I can only imagine how fast the many years to come will go. I just want to sit and hold her while I still can. She's getting kind of big to hold but I can't turn down the feel of her wrapping her arms and legs around me and laying her head on my shoulders. I want her to be my little girl forever. I do look forward to all the fun we'll have as mother and daughter as she gets older though. I'm just trying to enjoy every minute that I can.

I love you Cheyenne! Happy Birthday!
