I made It!

We hosted the 12 & under 70' state Cal Ripken tournament this weekend. It's been a crazy couple of weeks but we made it! We got lots of compliments on the tournament. It's nice to here them so we feel like we did a good job and ran the tournament well. A few minor things happened but nothing major. I think everyone had a good time. The LRC staff and tournament committee worked many hours to make this tournment a success. It was a job well done! Several people even tore down and built a press box in a week! It was awesome! I will post pictures of it later! You can visit the tournament website for stats and pictures!
And Lyons won the tournament and gets to go on the the Regional Tournament in Marion, KS next weekend! They are 3 time state Champs! It was an exciting weekend for them!

Another accomplishment, maybe with the help of the heat this weekend:

I lost all of my pregnancy weight! I was 10 pounds heavier when I got pregnant with Cheryl than when I got pregnant with Cheyenne. And as of today I weigh 1 pound less than I did when I got pregnant with Cheyenne! I'd like to loose a few more pounds and tone up a little more but I'm so excited to be at this weight! 46 pounds in 6 months! A year after having Cheyenne I hadn't lost all of my weight and now it's only 6 months after having Cheryl and I've lost it all!

6 Months

Tuesday Cheryl was 6 months old. I can't believe she is that old already! Time is going by so fast. :( She is rolling over lots and even starting to crawl (scoot). She mostly goes backwards but she is all over the floor. She is eating baby food good now. It's nice to be able to feed her rather than nurse her when we are eating.

She had her 6 month appointment yesterday. Everything was good. She weighed 22 lbs. 6 oz and was 30 1/2 inches long. Just like Cheyenne, she is making her own line above the growth chart!
Comparing the two girls at 6 months
Cheyenne
20 lbs.
30 1/4 inches
2 teeth
sits up unassisted
rolls over
Cheryl
22 lbs. 6 oz.
30 1/2 inches
no teeth
sits for a little bit but falls over
rolls over & scoots
They are pretty close to the same size and doing the same things. Cheyenne didn't crawl until she was 10 months old and I think Cheryl is going to be way ahead of that. With their size we have to remember that Cheryl started life a pound heavier and an inch longer! We just have big girls!

4th of July

Every year on the 4th of July, the LRC holds the Freedom Run. This year was the 29th annual 5K and 15K runs from Lyons to Sterling. We had a great turnout with 90 people pre-registering and 100 registering the day of the race. It was crazy, but fun! This year I decided to enter Cheyenne in the Cute Baby Contest held at Sterling Lake along with all the other festivities. This was the only time she'd be able to do it because it was walking to 36 months. I had to register her in the morning and the competition was at 7 pm. Scott got off work a little early and we headed over there. Cheyenne did good walking across the stage. She didn't place but we still think she's the cutest kid her age!

They had to wear their swimsuits for the competition. Cheyenne is ready.
After walking across the stage for the judges.
When that was over we had to wait around until it got dark for the fireworks to start. Although we had some fireworks behind us in someone's back yard. Cheyenne enjoyed watching those. But those didn't prepare her for the loud ones that went off later!
Cheryl was having fun with Daddy!
Matching outfits!

It was a very nice fireworks display that Sterling put on. I've never been to Sterling's before but it was better than any other ones I've been to.

Cheyenne didn't make it through the whole show. She was out. The loud ones didn't even wake her!

Last minute vacation

Friday Scott called me and said he was going to surprise us and reserve a room at the Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City for Saturday night. He had 2 days off and wanted to get away. They had rooms available when he checked on Thursday but when he went back into the website on Friday they were all booked up. He had made arrangements with a coworker to pick up his jet ski in Overland Park so we decided to go anyway. When we got to KC we stopped just to see if they had any rooms at the Great Wolf Lodge and they did. It was quite expensive but we decided to do it anyway. We checked in and then went to meet Scott's brother at Legends mall. We went and ate at Famous Dave's and then the guys went to pick up the jet ski while us girls went to hang out in the hotel. The girls took a nap and I dozed off talking to Ashley. Remember, I've been awake since 4 am Friday morning! It took Scott and Dustin longer than expected to get the jet ski. When they got back we headed back to the Legends for some shopping and ice cream from Cold Stone. Now we were ready to swim! The girls loved it! It took Chey a little bit but she had fun! The slides were lots of fun!

Cheryl didn't make a sound! She just floated in her life jacket & kicked her feet in the water. As soon as I took her life jacket off, she fell asleep! I guess it wore her out!

The bucket that drops 1000 gallons of water every 5 minutes!

We swam for a couple hours and then got some pizza from the snack bar and headed back to our room. We ate and then hit the sack.

We got up Sunday morning in time to go watch the story time in the lobby.

Cheyenne waiting on the rest of us to get ready.

Then we took showers and went to IHOP for breakfast. When we got done with breakfast it was time for Cabela's to open. We looked around Cabela's and then headed for home.

It was a very fast trip to KC but an enjoyable one. We all needed to get away for a little break!
