Ferewell Pastor

Yesterday was Pastor Sharp's last day with St. Peter Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran Church. He has been our Pastor for 9 years. I was a senior in high school. He came to us right out of seminary. He married Scott and I and also baptized both of the girls. He was a very special pastor and will be truly missed. We wish him well on his new calling and pray that the transition to a new pastor will go smoothly.
The girls' last children's serman. (Well, Chey's, Cheryl doesn't usually go up there)

Pastor and Christy are moving to Illinois where Pastor has accepted a call.

Our church does a Streets of Bethlehem presentation every 2 years and Pastor was always the Rabi. One of our members asked him to perform one last time.

Ron and Kevin put on a little skit because they were 2 of the first 3 people that Pastor met and Pastor asked if there was something in the water because all 3 of them are bald. That made an impression when they met so they wanted to make one when he left!

The farewell speech.

Thank you Pastor

Where's Chey?

One night I believe it was after a basketball game I was getting Cheryl ready for bed and then went to get Cheyenne and this is where I found her.

Yes, she's under the end table!

It was quite fun getting a sleeping child out from under the end table!
Kids do the darndest things!

28 inches!

On the news this morning they said that west of Pratt got 28 inches of snow! I haven't heard the total for Lyons or Rice County but I think Great Bend and Hutch got around 14 inches so I'm sure that's about what we got. To make it worse the snow was blowing so bad that the drifts were huge! Scott couldn't even park at our house when he got home from work this morning. He could go down the alley but couldn't get in the driveway and he couldn't park in the street because of drifts. He parked by the grocery store and walked home. He was freezing and soaking wet. It was noon before he got home because his relief didn't get there until late and then they told him to take 56 to get to Lyons but when he did and got to Ellinwood, it was closed so he had to go back to Hwy. 4 and take it to Hwy. 14 to get home. He has to go back in at 5! It'll be a short day at home for him. There have been stories of several people getting stuck and having to stay in their vehicles until someone could get them out. It's crazy! I don't know why they would try to drive in it! I don't plan on leaving the house. Well, we might go play in the snow when the girls wake up! I finally found a different memory card and took some pictures.

Our alley and driveway.

Can you see how deep it is?

The drift is up to the mirror on my car.

I know of a couple weddings that were planned for today and I think one of them was postponed until tomorrow! Who would have thought we'd have this much snow the end of March! Guess March is going out like a lion!

Snow Day

It's snowing and blowing here today. Actually it's blizzard like conditions and we could get up to 9 inches! I decided not to drive the 42 miles to work today. I'm glad I didn't go, we've got a few inches already but it's blowing like crazy! I took a picture of it but when I put my memory card in my computer to get the pictures off, it said there was an error and now there are no pictures. My other memory card is full and I don't want to try it in the computer incase it erases it too. I'm hoping to get caught up on laundry and housework. I did take a nap with Cheryl too! I've been working a lot lately and only having Sundays off so it was nice to have a day to just stay home. I'm hoping to post a few more blogs that today that I started a month or so ago. I know I'm not going outside! Stay tuned!
I took a picture with my phone! It's getting deeper!

Cheryl's First Birthday

On January 15th my baby turned 1 year old! :( This year went by so fast. It seems like it went by so much faster with Cheryl than with just Cheyenne. On the 17th we had her birthday party. Scott had to work so we had it in the evening when he got off work. Scott's mom was able to make it from Texas and several other friends and family were there.

Cheryl getting ready to party!

Cheyenne helped me make the cake (and eat it too)!

Cheryl opening presents.

Chey got a present too. We weren't really paying attention to her and all of a sudden she threw her monkey on the floor. Then we realized she was singing 5 Little Monkey's jumping on the bed! One fell off and bumped his head!

Cheryl's very own chocolate cake she gets to eat by herself!

Digging in!

She really enjoyed it! Scott thought it would be funny to tell her to play peek-a-boo!

Many more happy birthdays to my little girl!

I'm Still Here

Well, it's been over a month since I've posted a blog. I've got lots planned just none posted. I'm so busy with work (I can't do them there) and with the extra time on the road I just haven't had time to post them. Then our monitor went out on our computer so that delayed things even longer. I have been home with a sick little girl since Saturday afternoon and today I hooked the computer up to our tv upstairs to use as a monitor. Cheyenne has been running a fever of 99-104 since Saturday. Both girls have runny noses and coughs. I started couging this morning too. It's been a rough few days. I took Chey to the dr. yesterday and she said it's just a virus and we'll have to let it run it's course. She sleeps a lot so hopefully she'll get through it. Probably just in time for Cheryl to get worse! The girls are both sleeping right now so I took the chance to at least post this one. I promise I will get them all on here soon. I am going to a friend's wedding in Phoenix this weekend so I will have lots to post when I get back.

Scott's Toy

I know many of you have heard about Scott's new toy but if you don't live around here you probably haven't seen it yet! Scott got this 1999 Corvette in November. He really enjoys it. We sold the motorcycle and got this toy. This one can be driven year round! Scott takes it to work whenever the weather isn't too cold. It actually gets the best gas mileage (when Scott drives it nice) out of all of our vehicles! I've taken it to work a couple times. You have to be pretty careful on dips, railroad tracks and parking next to curbs so I don't like driving it too often. It's Scott's baby and I don't want to hurt it!

Clark Christmas

Yesterday we got together to celebrate Christmas with my dad's family. This year it was at Unlce Alan's in Great Bend. We enjoyed a wonderful meal together. Dad and his brothers sat at a table together with Grandma. This was the first time they'd done that in many years.

The rest of us sat wherever to enjoy our meal.

Scott and Matthew played basketball in Ellinwood and were pooped out when they got back!

Brennan deciding which gift he wants!

For Grandma's 70th birthday in May, all of her kids and almost all of her grandkids surprised her with a party in the park in Great Bend. We got a picture of us all. My picture was the only one that turned out. I had it blown up and got a frame and gave it to grandma for Christmas.

The guys hanging out. They are all coaches so I'm sure the topic they were discussing was basketball!

Christmas Day

Christmas Day did start out very well. I woke up at 4:30 am to Cheryl throwing up all over me! I don't know what it was, that was the only time she threw up all day and acted fine after that. I took her downstairs to help me wrap some presents for the Goalden Christmas on Friday. She started crawling to me and I picked her up, she had a pen in her hand and I must have picked her up just right because she stuck it up my nose! It gave me a bloody nose! After those 2 things, I wondered what else the day would hold. When Cheyenne finally woke up, she saw that Santa had been at our house and tore into her presents.
Santa brought her a big (or heavy like she calls him) Micky and Minnie. Cheryl got a bouncing Tigger, a hugable Pooh and some bath toys.
The girls also got Hallmark ornaments in their stockings from Santa. This was a tradition that Santa has always done for my brother, sisters and I.
The girls got lots of clothes! They were needing long sleeve shirts so I think they have plenty now!
Cheyenne also got a Monkey robe and Spongebob PJ's!
Cheryl crashed before all the presents were opened. I guess 4:30 was a little early for her! Cheyenne didn't mind opening the rest of Cheryl's gifts!
We were planning on Scott's brother coming over sometime that day. They called that morning and asked if we'd want to go up to Ellsworth to his in-laws instead. We decided we would and went up there for a Christmas dinner and some visiting time.
We enjoyed seeing our nephew, Gunner.

This was about the best picture I could get of the three of them. Cheryl didn't want to sit still and was cranky. Cheyenne liked that she got to hold Gunner for the picture!

It was a very Merry Christmas! We were so glad we got to spend it with family!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve we went to church with my family in Holyrood. Scott didn't get off work until 6 and church started at 6 so he didn't make it. After church we headed to my parents' house for some snacks, drinks and opening presents.

I tried to get a picture of the girls infront of the tree before we left for church but they weren't cooperating.

Our Family!

It took several tries to get a good family picture!

Cheyenne opening presents.

Cheryl would rather crawl on them than open them!

Aunt B gave Cheyenne make-up!

My parents gave Cheyenne a microphone! It plays songs and she can record into it! She loves singing and dancing with it!

She was entertaining us all!

Cheryl got a baby doll from Mema and Papa.

Dad was having a hard time opening his box! It couldn't be becuase it was taped all the way around!

Cheryl liked to play peek-a-boo with her clothes.

Scott was tired from a hard days work. Cheyenne thought the baby needed to lay with daddy too!

We played Imaginiff, a game my sister gave us, until around midnight and then we headed home. The girls were still awake when we left! They crashed not too far down the road though. We enjoyed another Christmas Eve with family!
