Girls Day Out

Yvonne & I decided we needed a girls day out. This was about the only weekend we could go since volleyball would be starting and she works some weekends. Earlier in the week we decided we'd get massages. I had received a gift card to HeadTurners in Hutch at Christmas so I thought maybe we'd try it out. We had appointments starting at 11:00. There was only one masseuse so we couldn't go at the same time. We both enjoyed our 30 minutes massages thoroughly. We decided we should do this about every 6 months or so. After looking at what all they have to offer we're going to make several hours out of it, facials, manicures, pedicures, massages! The possibilities are endless! After massages we went to eat at Chili's and then walked around the mall for a little bit. We had such a wonderful relaxing day! We can't wait until next time!

We didn't get a picture at HeadTurners but got one at the mall.

Having some fun!

Nap Time/Play Time

Cheyenne and I ran to the grocery store the other day, Cheryl was sleeping so we left her at home with Scott. When we got home this is what we saw...

If you can't tell, Scott is playing playstation (his new PS3!). No interuption of naptime or playtime! I guess Cheryl woke up and he just put her on his shoulder and she went back to sleep!

Feeding Sister

Now that Cheryl is eating baby food, Cheyenne likes to feed her. Sometimes I think it's just because she wants a bite! They both enjoyed this feeding!

Tooth

I was busy last week and didn't get it posted but Cheryl got her first tooth! It poked through on August 13th! You can see it a little more now. I will try to get a picture when she moves her tongue out of the way! Every time you try to look at it she sticks her tongue out! If you can make her smile or laugh and are looking for it you can see. it! Finally some of the fussyness is over but I know there will be more to come!

Big Girl

Cheyenne has finally been going on the big potty! Saturday I decided to just put big girl panties on her and set the timer and take her to the bathroom every 15 minutes. The first 2 times I took her it was too late. So I changed the timer to 12 minutes. She went! She didn't go everytime but she started understanding that she needed to go. She stayed at my mom's for awhile that evening while Cheryl and I went to church. My sister texted me and said Chey went poop on on the potty! We did it again on Sunday too! The girls and I went out and ate lunch with grandma and grandpa and Cheyenne didn't potty in her pants at all while we were out there. She even took a nap and stayed dry! We're finally getting somewhere! Yesterday she went to daycare with big girl panties on. They take them to the bathroom every hour. She stayed dry the entire day! They forgot to put a pull-up on her for naptime but she stayed dry and went when on the potty when she got up. She did well the rest of the day. Now we just need to work on her staying dry during the night. We're happy getting this far though! We're all excited for her! Cheyenne is a big girl!

Last day at the Lake

Today is our last day at the lake house. We had a good time with family these last few days. It was great weather to be at the lake. Cheyenne was sad to leave the water. We can't wait until next year when Cheryl will be enjoying the water.

Dustin loves Cheryl's big eyes!

The girls sleeping holding hands on the way home. All that swimming and boating wore them out!

Vacation is over and now it's back to the everyday grind. We enjoyed our days off though!

Tuesday in the Water

Tuesday morning the guys got up early and went fishing. Scott kept 4 fish, Dustin had 3 and Brodrick caught one. Here is Scott' fish.

Brodrick with his fish,

Scott's grandpa was tired after a long morning of fishing so we didn't get the boat out that afternoon. We went down to the water to swim though. My cousins were there again and took us tubing. I got to tube with Lynnette. It was lots of fun! We didn't stay on very long the first time.

Scott playing with the boys on the tube.

They all 3 tried to get on it turned upside down. They didn't stay on too long!

Cheyenne and Shaylee playing in the sand and water.

We stayed down at the lake until 8:30 or so. It was an enjoyable day of swimming and tubing.

Monday on the Lake

Monday morning Cheryl was up early so I decided to take her for a walk around the houses. It was a beautiful morning. It was about 6:00 when we were walking and we walked every road hoping that when we got back someone else would be awake. Cheyenne was awake when we got back so I got her dressed and took her outside to play.

Dustin and Ashely arrived a little later that morning and we headed down to the lake to ride on the boat and go tubing. Scott's turn on the tube!

Dustin's turn on the tube.

He decided to turn around and ride.

Brodrick and Sam riding the tube. Brodrick is holding his nose because he's getting ready to fall off!

Cheyenne riding with daddy on the tube!

Giving Daddy some love on the tube!

Cheryl on the boat.

A video of Cheyenne riding the tube! She just sat there. They moved around a liitle bit and she wouldn't let go of Scott. She had fun! He told everyone all about riding on the tube when we got home. I tubed too but no one took any pictures! It was fun! I hadn't tubed for 3 years because 2 years I was pregnant and one year it was too cold. I was excited to finally get to tube!

After tubing we went back to the house for supper and then went back down to the water later.

Sam and Brodrick swimming.

My cousins came up from Colby with their boat. It was fun haning out with them too!

Cheyenne and Scott splashing in the water!

Cheryl liked the water and sand too. She would reach for the water as it came up to the shore. She also grabbed handfulls of sand. A couple times we caught her trying to put the sand in her mouth!

Cheryl sitting in the water. We couldn't find the infant life jacket so she didn't get into the water too far. I took her out a few times and let her get in the water more but not too much.

All that playing in the water wore her out!

They decided they would run into the water and see how far they could go before they fell. It was hilarious watching them!

Sunday at Papa's

Sunday we picked Scott up from work at 6 am and headed to Goodland. Scott wanted to work on the 70 Chevy to see if we could take it home. It was running but wouldn't stay running so he'll have to make another trip up there to bring it back. Nana was excited to see the girls! (and us too!)

The old car that was Nana's. Chey liked riding in it.
Sam enjoyed playing with the girls too. Cheyenne likes Aunt Sha Sha!

Cheyenne telling Papa she's ready to go to the lake and play in the water.

Sunday evening we headed up to Nebraska to the lake. Cheyenne was so excited to play in the water.

Here is a video of Cheyenne telling us what she's gonna do at the lake.

I made It!

We hosted the 12 & under 70' state Cal Ripken tournament this weekend. It's been a crazy couple of weeks but we made it! We got lots of compliments on the tournament. It's nice to here them so we feel like we did a good job and ran the tournament well. A few minor things happened but nothing major. I think everyone had a good time. The LRC staff and tournament committee worked many hours to make this tournment a success. It was a job well done! Several people even tore down and built a press box in a week! It was awesome! I will post pictures of it later! You can visit the tournament website for stats and pictures!
And Lyons won the tournament and gets to go on the the Regional Tournament in Marion, KS next weekend! They are 3 time state Champs! It was an exciting weekend for them!

Another accomplishment, maybe with the help of the heat this weekend:

I lost all of my pregnancy weight! I was 10 pounds heavier when I got pregnant with Cheryl than when I got pregnant with Cheyenne. And as of today I weigh 1 pound less than I did when I got pregnant with Cheyenne! I'd like to loose a few more pounds and tone up a little more but I'm so excited to be at this weight! 46 pounds in 6 months! A year after having Cheyenne I hadn't lost all of my weight and now it's only 6 months after having Cheryl and I've lost it all!

6 Months

Tuesday Cheryl was 6 months old. I can't believe she is that old already! Time is going by so fast. :( She is rolling over lots and even starting to crawl (scoot). She mostly goes backwards but she is all over the floor. She is eating baby food good now. It's nice to be able to feed her rather than nurse her when we are eating.

She had her 6 month appointment yesterday. Everything was good. She weighed 22 lbs. 6 oz and was 30 1/2 inches long. Just like Cheyenne, she is making her own line above the growth chart!
Comparing the two girls at 6 months
Cheyenne
20 lbs.
30 1/4 inches
2 teeth
sits up unassisted
rolls over
Cheryl
22 lbs. 6 oz.
30 1/2 inches
no teeth
sits for a little bit but falls over
rolls over & scoots
They are pretty close to the same size and doing the same things. Cheyenne didn't crawl until she was 10 months old and I think Cheryl is going to be way ahead of that. With their size we have to remember that Cheryl started life a pound heavier and an inch longer! We just have big girls!

4th of July

Every year on the 4th of July, the LRC holds the Freedom Run. This year was the 29th annual 5K and 15K runs from Lyons to Sterling. We had a great turnout with 90 people pre-registering and 100 registering the day of the race. It was crazy, but fun! This year I decided to enter Cheyenne in the Cute Baby Contest held at Sterling Lake along with all the other festivities. This was the only time she'd be able to do it because it was walking to 36 months. I had to register her in the morning and the competition was at 7 pm. Scott got off work a little early and we headed over there. Cheyenne did good walking across the stage. She didn't place but we still think she's the cutest kid her age!
Cheyenne before the Cute Baby Contest.

They had to wear their swimsuits for the competition. Cheyenne is ready.
After walking across the stage for the judges.
When that was over we had to wait around until it got dark for the fireworks to start. Although we had some fireworks behind us in someone's back yard. Cheyenne enjoyed watching those. But those didn't prepare her for the loud ones that went off later!
Cheryl was having fun with Daddy!
Matching outfits!

Cheryl watching the fireworks!

It was a very nice fireworks display that Sterling put on. I've never been to Sterling's before but it was better than any other ones I've been to.

Cheyenne didn't make it through the whole show. She was out. The loud ones didn't even wake her!
